The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act is the federal law that governs consumer product warranties. Passed by Congress in 1975, the Act requires manufacturers and sellers of consumer products to provide consumers with detailed information about warranty coverage. In addition, it affects both the rights of consumers and the obligations of warrantors under written warranties.

To understand the Act, it is useful to be aware of Congress’ intentions in passing it. First, Congress wanted to ensure that consumers could get complete information about warranty terms and conditions. By providing consumers with a way of learning what warranty coverage is offered on a product before they buy, the Act gives consumers a way to know what to expect if something goes wrong, and thus helps to increase customer satisfaction.

Second, Congress wanted to ensure that consumers could compare warranty coverage before buying. By comparing, consumers can choose a product with the best combination of price, features, and warranty coverage to meet their individual needs.

So what does this all mean when considering what type of RAM to use in your PC or Server?

This means that all DRAM/RAM modules are industry standard products that are governed by the JEDEC (http://www.jedec.org/) council. All RAM products manufactured by tier 1 RAM manufacturers that we distribute meet or exceed JEDEC standard and system manufacturers can NOT claim that using a Samsung/Micron/Qimonda module will void your warranty on the PC/Server. If your system OEM tells you that using a Samsung Original module without their sticker on it will void warranty, ask them to put it in writing and they will not do it. Reason being, the approved products we provide you are the same product they put in their PC/Servers originally when the machines ship from the factory. Our goal is to provide you a more cost effective solutions without sacrificing specifications for the machine. We are here to provide you a lower cost alternative that will save you money and help you win more deals during competitive bid situations while never sacrificing true quality!

Who is Jedec?
